Bely est une famille de caractères optimisée pour la composition éditoriale, comprenant un romain et un italique de labeur, une extension cyrillique, un gras et une version de titrage. Le romain est un caractère de texte radical qui offre un double jeu formel entre des empattements rectangulaires et des attaques triangulaires. L’italique est une référence aux italiques modernes de Pierre Simon Fournier, possédant son propre dessin, minimal et élégant, tout en reprenant les éléments formels rectangulaires et triangulaires du romain. Le gras, grâce à sa graisse soutenue et sa chasse similaire au romain, est optimisé pour l’usage en texte et offre un contraste important avec le romain texte. Le titrage est une variante travaillée de manière plus libre et expressive, qui amplifie les concepts inhérents au romain. Ultra-contrasté, il offre une variété d’usages à la famille typographique.
Bely is a type family which is perfectly suited to text setting and includes a roman and an italic body type, a Cyrillic extension, a bold and a titling version. The roman is a radical text type which plays the rectangular serifs off against the triangular top serifs. The italic makes reference to modern italics designed by Pierre Simon Fournier, and has its own minimal and elegant design whilst retaining the formal rectangular and triangular elements of the roman. The bold, with its sturdy fatness and width which is similar to the roman, is adapted for use in texts and offers a stark contrast to the roman text. The titling type is a free and more expressive variation, which amplifies the design elements inherent in the roman. High contrast, it means the type family has a wide range of uses.
